Discover Seven Syllables Coffee

Tucked away in the heart of Cerritos, Seven Syllables Coffee at 13307 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States, is the kind of café that makes you forget about time. The moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly roasted beans hits you in the best way possible. The soft hum of conversation, gentle indie music, and the sight of latte art being perfected behind the counter create an atmosphere that feels both modern and deeply comforting.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the coffee-it’s the experience. During my visit, I ordered their signature cold brew and a slice of ube cheesecake, and it was pure perfection. The coffee had that smooth, chocolatey undertone with a hint of nuttiness, balanced perfectly without being too bitter. You could tell the beans were roasted with care, likely from specialty-grade sources, as the flavor stayed consistent even after the ice melted. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was rich yet light, an indulgence that paired effortlessly with the drink.

Talking to the barista, I learned that Seven Syllables takes pride in sourcing its beans from sustainable farms in Central and South America, ensuring fair trade and quality. According to a 2024 report by the National Coffee Association, over 62% of Americans drink coffee daily, but only a small percentage actively seek out ethically sourced blends. That’s where cafés like this one stand out-they don’t just serve coffee; they educate you about it. The staff shared insights about their brewing methods, explaining how small changes in grind size and water temperature can alter the flavor profile completely. It’s clear they know their craft.

The menu here is both comforting and adventurous. You’ll find classics like cappuccinos, Americanos, and pour-overs, alongside specialty drinks such as lavender oat lattes and honey cinnamon cortados. They even offer a rotating seasonal menu that features creative takes on traditional favorites-last winter, it was a peppermint mocha with house-made syrup that regulars couldn’t stop talking about. For food, the options range from avocado toast to kimchi grilled cheese, all freshly made and beautifully plated. It’s one of those rare spots where you can come for breakfast and end up staying through lunch without realizing it.

Beyond the drinks and food, the café itself is designed for community. The minimalist interior, soft lighting, and long communal tables invite you to stay awhile-perfect for remote work, study sessions, or long chats with friends. On weekends, local artists sometimes perform acoustic sets, and the café occasionally hosts latte art workshops. It’s the kind of place where people don’t just stop by-they become part of something.

Reviews across online platforms reflect this sense of loyalty and satisfaction. Patrons consistently praise the friendly staff, consistent quality, and inviting atmosphere. One reviewer even mentioned how the owners remembered her “usual” after only two visits, which says a lot about their attention to detail and genuine care for customers. Such word-of-mouth appreciation is often more powerful than any advertisement, and it’s easy to see why this spot has become a local favorite.

In terms of location, its spot on Artesia Blvd makes it incredibly accessible-whether you’re coming from Norwalk, La Palma, or even Anaheim, it’s an easy stop during a commute or weekend outing. There’s plenty of parking available, which adds to the convenience. For those who love exploring unique coffee shops, this one deserves a permanent pin on your map.

Every visit feels a bit like discovering something new. Whether it’s the changing latte art, a new pastry on the counter, or simply a fresh playlist in the background, the café keeps things exciting while staying true to its cozy roots. The blend of authenticity, craftsmanship, and warmth makes it one of the most memorable coffee experiences in Southern California.

While I can’t claim to have tried every coffee shop in the area, Seven Syllables Coffee stands out for its perfect balance between artistry and approachability. It’s the kind of place that turns casual customers into regulars and coffee into something more than a drink-it becomes a ritual worth savoring.

  • A Filipino-inspired coffee shop with cozy seating. Love the minimalist interior design. Plenty of seating if you want to study or just enjoy your cup of coffee. The staff was friendly, and the service was very fast. I ordered the Maple Latte, which was smooth and rich with the combination of flavors.

  • Love this local coffee shop! High quality beans with both classic and creative coffee and matcha drinks. We come here probably once a week and have told so many friends and family to check this place out. They have seasonal drinks and they're always really good. One note to management - unfortunately, maybe with new employees, there are times where there's inconsistency in the drinks. Depending on who's on bar, the espresso is not pulled correctly or the crafted drink proportions vary. At $6-8 per drink, I don't think it's unfair to expect consistency. Also, I've had a few instances of errors at the cash register as well. Still love and support seven syllables though!!

  • The other day I was in Cerritos for work and I drove by Starbucks and it was way too crowded so I went on Yelp and found seven syllabus coffee. I went in for some snacks and drinks, and it was delicious. I got the salted bourbon caramel and it was delicious. Wasn’t too sweet and it wasn’t too strong for my taste. I also got the Ube Matcha latte and that was also delicious. The service here is excellent and ambience is very cool. They also have baked goods provided by Sunday in June. The baked goods are so good. Some of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the area, are you looking for some good coffee. You need to check this out

  • I stopped by for donuts and saw two stores down a plain white sign that said “coffee”. Little did I know it’s a Filipino owned coffee shop with the most creative menu. As I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly dude and he ended up helping me with my selection. The boku pandan it’s not too sweet, not too overpowering. Just tight and right. Will be back for that matcha.

  • Seven Syllables Coffee is a hidden gem that deserves a spotlight in Anaheim’s coffee scene. This unassuming spot focuses entirely on what matters most: exceptional coffee. I ordered a mocha, and it was flawless—rich, velvety, and perfectly balanced. The minimalist interior reflects their dedication to quality, letting the coffee take center stage. What sets them apart is the subtle Filipino influence woven into their menu, adding a unique and personal touch to the experience. If you’re searching for a coffee shop that’s all about craftsmanship and flavor, Seven Syllables Coffee should be at the top of your list. It’s the kind of place you’re proud to recommend to friends.

  • Such a hidden gem! This coffee shop is very simple, but the moment I walked in, I felt an instant sense of calm. It’s quiet, cozy, and has such a peaceful atmosphere. I ordered a latte and a chocolate croissant—both were absolutely delicious. I honestly don’t know how I didn’t know about this place sooner. The lady working there is so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I truly love this little spot and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm and comforting place to enjoy your coffee.
